Harmony Bunny is one of three illustrations inspired by my favorite TV shows as a kid, The Powerpuff Girls. In the show, there’s an episode where the girls dress up as the superheroes they’ve read about in the favorite comic books. The episode is adorable and definitely one of my favorites.
This one is inspired by Bubbles and the costume she wears in the episode. I thought it was hilarious that instead of flying like she normally did, a pogo stick became her weapon of choice.
I struggled so much her form for a pretty long time. I hadn’t drawn a lot of midair poses before this, so the process demanded a lot of iterations, both in my sketchbook and in Photoshop.
