Liberty Belle is one of three illustrations inspired by my favorite TV shows as a kid, The Powerpuff Girls. In the show, there’s an episode where the girls dress up as the superheroes they’ve read about in the favorite comic books. The episode is adorable and definitely one of my favorites.
This one is based on Blossom and the costume she wears in the episode. When watching The Powderpuff Girls, I often found Blossom to be the one I could relate to the least, but not in this episode. I thought it was hilarious that her tool for justice was a lasso that made criminals feel guilty for their actions. It was so much fun to draw her in this illustration.
